Overview
The Care & Animal welfare module is the place for everything that is not "medication" and not "breeding": observations, condition assessments, the annual shearing, and anaemia monitoring via FAMACHA score. You will find the section in the main navigation between Health and Breeding.
What you'll find here
When you tap Care, you reach the care overview. This shows you:
Open follow-ups
Notes to which you have assigned a follow-up date appear at the top of the page — so you always know what needs attention next. If you have not been in Herdy for a while, you will receive a daily e-mail digest at 06:30 with the due follow-ups.
Quick access to the four modules
- Notes — Free text observations with optional photo and follow-up
- Body Condition Score (BCS) — Condition assessment on a 9-point scale
- Shearing — Shearing day sessions with findings (sheep/goat farms only)
- FAMACHA score — Anaemia monitoring for targeted deworming (sheep/goat farms only)
Note: On pure cattle farms, Shearing and FAMACHA are automatically hidden. The system recognises what is relevant based on your animal species.

- Document daily observations without turning them into a medical event

- Work through seasonal tasks such as shearing in a structured way
