Overview
The health module is your digital stable book. Here you keep your treatment journal as required by the Veterinary Medicinal Products Ordinance (TAMV Art. 28), keep track of deworming, vaccinations and withdrawal periods, run the exercise log for RAUS and the pasture contribution, and work through a footrot remediation.
Everything you used to keep on paper or in spreadsheets is faster in Herdy and available at any time, in the barn, on the pasture or during an inspection.
Requirements
- Your role needs access to the Health module. If the menu entry is missing, ask the person who administers your farm in Herdy.
- The Footrot tab is hidden on farms that keep no sheep. The national control programme applies to sheep holdings.
- The official PDF exports need the farm address in settings. It fills the header block of the official forms.
The tabs of the module
Tapping Health in the navigation opens a tab strip:

What the overview shows
The overview carries five key figures. Each one is clickable and leads to the place where you can act on it:
- Active withdrawal periods: animals with a running waiting period for meat or milk
- Upcoming vaccinations: scheduled boosters coming due
- Treatments (7 days): what you recorded during the past week
- Low stock: medications you should reorder
- Expiring soon: batches expiring within the next 30 days
A sixth card, Footrot, appears only when something is actually pending: during a running remediation, or while your holding is blocked. It then shows the hoof bath count and the earliest retest date.
Quick actions
Three of the most frequent tasks start straight from the overview:
- New treatment: one animal, one entry
- Group treatment: several animals in one pass
- New medication: adds a product to the catalogue
TAMV compliance
The Veterinary Medicinal Products Ordinance requires animal keepers to maintain a complete treatment journal. Herdy meets the requirements of Art. 28:
- Every prescribed field is recorded
- Entries are never silently overwritten: corrections need a reason and stay visible in the history, and wrong entries are voided rather than deleted
- Withdrawal periods are calculated automatically, and doubled on organic farms
- The journal can be printed as the official BLV form at any time
Tip: Export your treatment journal as a PDF before an announced inspection. That way you have everything on paper, in case the inspector prefers not to use a screen.
