Managing Partner Farms

How to save and manage frequently used partner farms for TVD notifications.

Overview

Many TVD notifications require you to provide the TVD number of another farm — for example the source farm for an arrival or the slaughterhouse for a slaughter notification. If you regularly exchange animals with the same farms, repeatedly typing the TVD number quickly becomes tedious.

The partner farms feature lets you save these farms once in Herdy. They are then available in all notification forms for quick selection — with names, categories, and favourites.

Saving a partner farm

There are two ways to save a partner farm:

Automatically after a notification

After successfully submitting a TVD notification, Herdy automatically asks whether you would like to save the farm used. In the dialog you can:

  1. Assign a name (e.g. "Müller Farm", "Bern Slaughterhouse").
  2. Choose one or more categories:
    • Farm — An agricultural farm (for arrival and departure notifications).
    • Slaughterhouse — A slaughterhouse (for slaughter notifications).
    • Alp / Summering farm — An alpine farm (for summering notifications).
  3. Mark the farm as a favourite so it appears at the top of the selection list.
  4. Click Save — or Don't Save if you do not want to save the farm.

Manually under Master Data

You can also create partner farms directly under Master Data > Partner Farms:

  1. Navigate to Master Data > Partner Farms.
  2. Click New Partner Farm.
  3. Enter the TVD number and optionally a name.
  4. Select the appropriate categories and whether the farm should be a favourite.
  5. Click Save.

Using partner farms in notification forms

In all notification forms that require the TVD number of another farm, you see a selection list of your saved farms. The list is divided into three sections:

  • Favourites — Your farms marked as a favourite, always at the top.
  • Recently used — Farms you have recently used in notifications.
  • Others — All other saved farms.

You can search the list by TVD number or name. The farms are filtered to match the notification type: for a slaughter notification you primarily see slaughterhouses, for a departure notification you primarily see farms.

If the desired farm is not in the list, click Enter new number and enter the TVD number directly.

Editing partner farms

To change the name, categories, or favourite status of a saved farm:

  1. Navigate to Master Data > Partner Farms.
  2. Click Edit on the desired farm.
  3. Change the name, categories, or favourite status.
  4. Click Save.

Deleting partner farms

To remove a saved farm:

  1. Navigate to Master Data > Partner Farms.
  2. Click Delete on the desired farm.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

Deleting has no effect on existing notifications. The TVD numbers in notifications already created remain unchanged.

Information about saved farms

In the overview under Master Data > Partner Farms you can see for each farm:

  • TVD number and name
  • Categories (Farm, Slaughterhouse, Alp)
  • Favourite status
  • Last used — When the farm was last used in a notification.
  • Uses — How many times the farm has been used in notifications overall.

Tip: If you regularly work with the same farms, mark them as favourites. That way they appear directly at the top of the selection list with every notification — without searching.
