You set up your animal categories once — ewes, lambs, breeding rams, dairy goats — and link them to your herd groups. After that you confirm outdoor access per category: pasture, exercise yard, Sömmerung, or none. «Same as yesterday» carries the previous day over with one tap. If the animals stayed inside, Herdy asks for the reason — which is exactly what the inspector asks for later.

26 days in summer, 13 in winter. Herdy counts along.
RAUS requires outdoor access on 26 days per month from May to October and on 13 days from November to April. Herdy counts per animal category and shows the monthly progress. If it gets tight, Herdy warns you while the remaining days are still enough. If the requirement can no longer be reached, Herdy says that too — so you know on the twentieth, not next spring.

RAUS, BTS and the Weidebeitrag are three different things.
RAUS
Regular outdoor access. 26 days per month from May to October, 13 from November to April. That is the requirement Herdy calculates against.
BTS
Particularly animal-friendly housing. BTS sets requirements for the barn — lying area, bedding, daylight. The exercise entry is one piece of evidence among several; Herdy does not track the housing requirements.
Weidebeitrag
The Weidebeitrag has its own requirements for pasture share and ration. Your pasture days are in the log; Herdy does not calculate the payment.
Herdy keeps the log and calculates against the RAUS requirement. It does not replace registering for the programme — that still runs through your canton. And for BTS and the Weidebeitrag the exercise log is one piece of evidence among several, not the whole file.
What the inspector checks — and where it comes from
The sheet on the barn door is not wrong. The question is what it can do when somebody asks.

No. Herdy needs an internet connection to record. You can install Herdy straight onto your home screen without an app store — but if your barn has no reception, you confirm the outdoor access afterwards from the house. That is the honest answer.
