How to report a Sömmerung
Expect a few minutes for the whole herd. You need the alp's TVD number and your Agate connection.
Select the animals
A whole group at once, individually through search, or scanned at the pen with a Bluetooth reader. Herdy keeps count of what is selected.
Set the destination
Pick an alp with its TVD number or create a new one. Alps you have entered once are ready again next year. Plus the departure date and the expected return date.
Confirm
Herdy shows the summary: how many animals, which alp, which date. Nothing goes to the TVD before that.
Process the reports
Herdy sends the departure reports as a batch and shows progress live — succeeded, failed, send again. For the Alpabzug, Herdy prepares the arrival reports as drafts straight away.
The accompanying document comes as a PDF — with the health declaration.
For sheep and goats Herdy creates the accompanying document over the official interface, for all animals of a transport at once. The health declaration — holding free of epizootics, animals healthy and unmedicated — is mandatory and sits structured inside the document. Print it, send it along, done.

Alpauftrieb and Alpabzug are movements, and the TVD wants movements within three working days. Herdy keeps a deadline list: overdue, due today, due this week — per report, with the number of days. Since 2024 the Normalstoss for sheep and goats has been calculated directly from TVD data. So the report is not paperwork next to the payment. It is the payment.

Alpabzug, in stages too
If not all animals come back on the same day, you report the return in stages. Herdy tracks how many are still up there and points it out when the expected return date has passed.
Losses on the alp
Died, missing or sold from the alp: Herdy records it with the correct status — and deliberately sends no TVD report. A carcass is reported by the Sömmerungsbetrieb, a sale by the buyer as an arrival. Herdy tells you that in the form instead of letting you find out.
Repeat the season
Next year you carry last year's Sömmerung over with one click. Herdy tells you how many of those animals are no longer active.
The Sömmerung is one of five report types. And if you are on the other side of it — the alp, not the Bestösser — the answer is elsewhere.
Frequently asked questions
Departure, death and slaughter reports, yes. Arrival reports for goats are deactivated at the TVD interface — those you enter in the portal at agate.ch. That is a limitation of the interface and not of Herdy, and we would rather say it up front.
