Lambing
Five to fifteen births a day, noted on the barn wall, typed up in April. Record them where they happen — the evening at the computer disappears.

Departure and arrival as a collective report, within the three working days, with the Begleitdokument as a PDF. Since 2024 the Normalstoss has been calculated directly from the TVD data.
Inspection
You print the herd register, the treatment journal and the exercise log before the appointment is set. Not the night before.
Record the lambing where it happens.
Choose the ewe, record the lambs, assign the ear tags — on the phone, in the barn, with cold fingers. The entry becomes the birth report to the TVD, the ewe-to-lamb link in the pedigree and the basis for your lambing rate. You still keep your list — Herdy just stops you typing it up.

What you record about an animal has to reach three places today: the Tierverkehrsdatenbank, the treatment journal under TAMV and the exercise log for RAUS or BTS. In Herdy you record it once. The three records follow from it.

Your herd is already in the TVD. Herdy fetches it — with ear tag numbers, sex and dates of birth. Whatever is not in the TVD comes across by CSV from your Excel file.

No. Herdy needs an internet connection to record. You can install Herdy straight to your home screen, without an App Store, and scanning also works offline after the first load — but recording without a signal is not possible today. That is the honest answer; if your barn has no reception, record it afterwards in the house.
