Animal management is the heart of Herdy. All animals are recorded here with their master data, and the CSV import lets you bring existing herds across in just a few minutes.

Animal Management

• Record master data: ear tag number (TVD-compliant), breed, sex, date of birth, dam, sire
• Manage animal status: active, sold, slaughtered, deceased
• Notes field for individual remarks per animal
• Quick entry at birth: assign ear tag, link dam/sire, and submit birth notification in one step

Animal Profiles

• Animal record with all master data at a glance
• Health history: all treatments, vaccinations, and health events in chronological order
• Breeding data: pedigree, matings, births, and offspring
• Weight history: all weighings with chart
• Group membership: current and past groups

CSV Import

• Import existing animal lists from Excel or other applications as CSV
• Column mapping: map the columns of the CSV file to Herdy fields
• Validation before import: duplicates, missing required fields, and invalid ear tag numbers are detected
• Import log shows which animals were successfully imported and which were skipped

Search & Filter Functions

• Full-text search by ear tag number or name
• Filter by breed, sex, age group, group, location, and status
• Filters can be combined for targeted analysis
• Export filtered animal list as CSV or PDF
