Recording tail lengths
Tail-length measurement is a breeding trait relevant for the assessment of certain sheep breeds. Herdy lets you record tail lengths, analyse them as a chart, and export the data.
Recording a tail length
- Navigate to Breeding and select the Tail lengths tab.
- Tap New measurement.
- Select the animal from your herd.
- Enter the length in centimetres (e.g. 18.5).
- Select the date of the measurement.
- Optional: Add notes.
- Tap Save.
Batch measurement
When several animals are measured at the same time, Herdy automatically displays the entries as a batch measurement, provided they were recorded in a single batch session. In the list, the batch measurement appears as a grouped block showing the date and the number of animals.
Chart
For an individual animal, the tail-length chart shows development over time:
- X-axis: Date of measurement
- Y-axis: Length in centimetres
This lets you see growth at a glance.
Filtering and exporting
The tail-length list can be filtered by time period. Use the From and To date fields to narrow the display.
For export, PDF and CSV are available. Tap the export menu at the top right of the list.
Deleting an entry
If you recorded a measurement by mistake, you can remove it using the delete icon in the list.
