Overview
Herdy is an annual subscription in Swiss francs. Inoo GmbH is not liable for VAT, so no VAT is added. The launch price applies until 31 December 2026, the regular list price from 1 January 2027.
The price depends solely on the number of animals you keep. Every feature is included in every tier, TVD notifications, treatment journal, breeding, weights and summer pasture included. There is no feature you have to unlock.
You find the billing page under Settings → Billing. It is reserved for the farm owner.
Prices
| Tier | Launch price (until 31.12.2026) | From 2027 | Animals |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | CHF 99 / year | CHF 119 / year | up to 50 |
| Pro | CHF 299 / year | CHF 349 / year | up to 250 |
| Pro+ | CHF 599 / year | CHF 699 / year | from 500 |
Between the tiers there are capacity packs at CHF 50 per year each:
- Pro: 50 more animals per pack, up to 4 packs, so up to 450 animals
- Pro+: 100 more animals per pack, unlimited packs
You do not have to assemble the packs yourself. Herdy works out the cheapest combination for you.
Which animals count
Every animal with the status active, on the alp or missing counts, regardless of age. Young stock counts from day one.
Animals with the status departed, deceased or slaughtered do not count.
Important: What matters is therefore not your winter stock but the spring after lambing or calving. A farm with 30 ewes quickly manages 66 animals in spring. Sending animals to the alp does not lower the home farm's capacity: summered animals keep counting.
Setting your capacity
You answer one single question: how many animals you keep at the yearly peak. Herdy derives tier and packs from that.

- Open Settings → Billing.
- Scroll to the Capacity card.
- Enter your number in the Animals at the yearly peak field. Below it you see how many animals Herdy has recorded today, and what capacity your subscription covers today.
- Herdy immediately shows the cheapest matching combination and the yearly price.
- Click Adjust capacity. You see every amount before anything is booked.
If you increase the capacity, it applies immediately. The pro-rata amount for the remaining term is not charged separately but settled with your next annual invoice.
If you reduce the capacity, the change takes effect at your next renewal. Until then you keep the full capacity, and there is no refund. If you keep more animals than the smaller capacity holds at that point, Herdy warns you in the confirmation dialog.
Tip: The number you enter is your self-declaration and therefore the basis for billing. Herdy's own count only advises you.
What you pay is shown first
At the top of the billing page sits the card Your subscription at a glance with four lines:

- Plan: your tier and the yearly price
- Payment method: QR invoice or card, and for a card the payment method on file
- What happens next: when money moves next and how much
- Actions: Start now, Cancel and Manage payment method
Below it, the Managed animals bar shows how much of your capacity is in use.
7 days for free, without a credit card
As soon as you create a farm, a 7-day trial starts. You do not have to pick anything and no card is needed.
- Full feature set, including taking your herd over from the TVD
- Sending notifications to the TVD is blocked during the trial. It unlocks as soon as your subscription is active
- You receive reminder emails when about three days are left, when one day is left, and on the last day of the trial
- If the trial ends without an active plan, your access is paused: you can still view and export everything, but you cannot add new animals or send notifications. Your data stays stored and you can start later at any time
Choosing plan and payment method
During the trial the billing page shows the card Choose plan and payment method:
- Step 1, Plan: enter your animal number at the yearly peak and apply the suggested plan.
- Step 2, Payment method: choose Add a card or Pay by invoice. For the invoice you enter your billing address once; no card is needed.
Nothing is charged before the trial ends.
Starting earlier
If you have already made up your mind, you do not have to wait. Start now in the status block ends the trial and starts the subscription immediately. You see the amount before confirming. With a card it is charged straight away; with a QR invoice you receive the invoice the same day and your access continues.
Note: If you want to raise your capacity during the trial, Herdy asks for a payment method first. You are taken to the payment portal for that, and your trial keeps running unchanged.
Payment methods
Card and TWINT. TWINT is preselected at checkout. Credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay work too.
Payment by invoice (Swiss QR invoice). You enter your billing address once. Herdy emails you the QR invoice with the PDF attached, payable within 30 days. Your access is active from the start, you do not wait for the payment to arrive. Renewals work the same way every year.
You change the billing address with Edit billing address on the billing page.
One invoice per year
Herdy issues one invoice per year, in both payment channels. Every change you make during the year is calculated pro rata and added to that annual invoice. You do not get interim invoices for individual adjustments.
If adjustments have accumulated, the Pending adjustments card lists the individual amounts and the expected total of your next invoice.
Invoice archive
The Invoices card lists every invoice you have received from Herdy, with number, date, amount, due date, payment method and status. Download opens the PDF. This applies to QR invoices and card payments alike.
Renewal, reminder and dunning
- Renewal: your subscription renews automatically for one year, on the anniversary of your subscription start.
- Reminder: around 30 days before the renewal you receive an email stating the amount. No invoice arrives as a surprise.
- Open invoice: an unpaid QR invoice appears as the Open invoice card at the top of the billing page, with amount and due date. Open QR invoice downloads the PDF again.
- Failed payment: if a card payment cannot be processed, you receive an email on every attempt and see a notice on the billing page with the Update payment method button. If the payment never arrives, the subscription ends and your access is paused.
Cancelling
You cancel directly in Herdy:
- Open Settings → Billing.
- Click Cancel in the status block.
- Herdy shows until when you keep full access, and confirms that nothing more will be charged.
- Confirm with Confirm cancellation.
The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term; there is no notice period. Cancelling during the trial means you never receive an invoice.
While the term is still running you can undo the cancellation in the same place with Undo cancellation. An email to info@inoo.ch works too.
After the term ends your access is paused: viewing and exporting continue, adding new animals does not. Your data stays stored.
Founding 100
The first 100 paying farms belong to the Founding 100 cohort:
- Lifetime price lock on the launch price, also after 2027
- A Founding 100 badge on your billing page
- As long as you stay a paying customer, your price does not change
The public pricing page shows how many places are still free.
Tip: The place is earned with the first paid invoice, not with the start of the trial. Letting the trial run does not reserve a place.
When your herd outgrows the capacity
Herdy never blocks a mandatory notification for billing reasons. What happens instead:
- The Managed animals bar on the dashboard and the billing page changes colour as you approach the limit.
- If your herd exceeds the chosen capacity, a notice banner appears with the Adjust capacity button.
- If you try to record an animal above the limit, a dialog takes you to the capacity planner. That animal is not saved; you can record it again after the adjustment.
- TVD notifications, the Agate sync, and reading, correcting and exporting your data always remain available.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to choose between tiers and packs? No. You only enter your animal number, and Herdy picks the cheapest combination of tier and packs.
What happens if I do not convert the trial? Your access is paused: viewing and exporting continue, adding new animals does not. Your data stays stored. If you start later, you carry on without re-entering anything.
Does the launch price stay forever if I subscribe in 2026? Only for the Founding 100. Everyone else pays the list price from 2027.
Do lambs and kids count? Yes, from day one. That is why Herdy asks for the yearly peak and not for today's headcount.
What about animals on the alp? They keep counting towards your herd. Summering does not lower the home farm's capacity.
Do I need more than 500 animals? Pro+ can be extended without limit using packs of 100 animals. For alp farms with many contributing holdings we prepare a quote; write to info@inoo.ch.
