Overview
Almost every TVD notification asks for another holding's TVD number: the holding of origin on an arrival, the destination on a departure, the slaughterhouse on a slaughter, the alp on a summering. So that you do not retype these numbers every time, Herdy remembers the holdings you work with.

The picker in the notification form
Wherever another holding's TVD number is required, clicking into the field opens the list of your saved holdings, grouped into:
- Favourites: The ones you marked, always at the top.
- Recently used: What you filed lately.
- Others: Everything else.
You search by TVD number or name. The list follows the notification type: on a departure with the reason «Slaughter» slaughterhouses come first, with «Summering» the alp holdings, otherwise ordinary farms.
If the holding you want is not there, choose Enter new number and type the TVD number directly.
Entering the TVD number correctly
A Swiss TVD number has seven digits, for example 9000209. Many holdings write it as six digits with a separated check digit, such as 110183.6. You may type it that way, Herdy strips dots and spaces itself. Only the seven digits have to add up, otherwise Herdy rejects the entry.
Saving a holding after a notification
If you typed a number by hand and the notification went through, Herdy asks: «Save holding?» In the dialog you can:
- Give a name, for example «Müller Farm» or «Bern abattoir».
- Choose categories: farm, slaughterhouse, alp / summering holding. Several are allowed.
- Tick Save as favourite.
- Click Save, or Do not save if it was a one-off partner.
If you instead create the holding under Master data > Partner farms, Herdy fetches name, address, postcode and town straight from the TVD for a valid TVD number, provided the Agate connection is in place.
What deleting a partner farm does
Nothing to your notifications. The TVD numbers in notifications already created are stored inside them and stay unchanged. Only the entry in your picker is removed.
Tip: Mark the three or four holdings you trade animals with regularly as favourites. The right holding is then first in the list on every notification.
