Overview

The TVD notification log shows you the complete history of all TVD notifications you have sent to the livestock traffic database via Herdy. It is your proof that all statutory notification obligations have been fulfilled on time.

You reach the log via Reports > TVD Notification Log.

Two views for different needs

The notification log offers you two views, which you can switch between at the top:

Operational — For day-to-day use

The operational view is your daily working view. It shows:

  • Current notifications — The most recent TVD notifications at a glance
  • Pending notifications — Notifications that have not yet been confirmed or are still being processed
  • Errors and warnings — Notifications where a problem has occurred and that require your attention

This view is designed to quickly show you whether everything is in order or whether you need to act.

Tip: Check the operational view regularly — ideally daily or after every notification. This lets you spot errors early and fix them in time.

Audit — For inspections and compliance checks

The audit view shows the complete, unbroken notification history with all technical details. This view is specifically designed for veterinary inspections, TVD audits, and compliance checks.

For each notification you can see:

  • Confirmation ID — The unique identifier assigned by the TVD. This allows every notification to be clearly identified and verified with the TVD.
  • Transmitted at — The exact time at which the notification was sent by Herdy to the TVD.
  • Confirmed at — The time at which the TVD confirmed the notification.
  • Status history — The complete sequence of all status changes (e.g. "sent", "processing", "confirmed").

This detailed documentation clearly shows the inspector that all notifications were made correctly and on time.

Filters

Both views offer filters to search for specific notifications:

  • Notification type — Filter by the type of notification (birth, arrival, departure, death, slaughter)
  • Status — Filter by the current status (e.g. confirmed, pending, error)
  • Time period — Narrow the display to a specific time period (From / To)

Tip: For a veterinary inspection, set the time period to the past year, select the audit view, and export the result as a PDF. This gives you an inspection-ready document in seconds.

Export

The TVD notification log can be exported in two formats:

PDF export (inspection-ready)

The PDF export creates a professionally formatted document that presents all relevant information clearly. This format is ideal for:

  • Veterinary inspections — As official proof of your notification obligation fulfilment
  • TVD audits — With confirmation IDs and timestamps for complete traceability
  • Farm archive — For your long-term documentation

CSV export (data analysis)

The CSV export delivers all notification data in tabular form. This format is suitable for:

  • Statistical analysis — How many notifications per month? What is the breakdown by type?
  • Further processing — In Excel or other applications
  • Reconciliation — For comparison with your own records or third-party data

How to export

  1. Select the desired view (Operational or Audit)
  2. Set the filters (type, status, time period)
  3. Tap Export
  4. Choose PDF or CSV
  5. The file is downloaded

When is the notification log particularly important?

The TVD notification log is indispensable in the following situations:

  • Veterinary inspections — The cantonal veterinarian or inspection body checks whether all notifications were made correctly. The audit PDF export gives you the perfect proof.
  • TVD audits — During a direct review by the TVD, you can demonstrate every individual notification using the confirmation IDs.
  • Compliance checks — Show conclusively that your farm has met all statutory notification deadlines.
  • Own quality control — Check regularly whether all notifications have been confirmed and no errors remain open.

Tip: Save the PDF export of the audit report at the end of each year. Over time this builds an unbroken archive that is immediately available for any inspection.
