Partner Farms

Create and manage partner farms for TVD notifications — farms, slaughterhouses, and alpine pastures.

Last updated · March 19, 2026· 1 min read

Overview

Partner farms are farms you regularly exchange animals with. These can be other agricultural operations, slaughterhouses, or alpine farms. Once you have recorded a partner farm in Herdy, you can select it directly for TVD notifications (arrival, departure, alpine summering) — without having to type the TVD number and address every time.

You can access partner farms via Master Data > Partner Farms.

Creating a new partner farm

  1. Go to Master Data > Partner Farms
  2. Tap New Partner
  3. Enter the TVD number of the partner farm

Once you have entered the TVD number and left the field, Herdy automatically attempts to look up the address via the TVD. If the farm is found, the name, address, postcode, and town are filled in automatically. You can adjust the details if needed.

  1. Select at least one category:
    • Farm — another agricultural operation (purchase/sale, relocation)
    • Slaughterhouse — a slaughter facility
    • Alpine pasture — an alpine farm for alpine summering (Sömmerung)
  2. Optionally complete the remaining details:
    • Address, postcode, town — if not filled in automatically
    • Contact person — name of the contact
    • Phone and email — contact details
    • Notes — free text for additional information, e.g. "Closed on Mondays" or "Use the rear entrance"
  3. If desired, enable the Favourite toggle to highlight the farm in the selection list.
  4. Tap Create.

Tip: Set up your most important partner farms right at the start. They will then be immediately available for the next TVD notification and you will not need to look up their TVD numbers.

Editing a partner farm

  1. Go to Master Data > Partner Farms
  2. Tap the partner farm you want to edit
  3. Tap Edit
  4. Change the desired fields. The TVD number cannot be changed after the fact.
  5. Tap Save

Detail view

When you tap a partner farm in the list, you see the detail page with all recorded information:

  • TVD number and name of the farm
  • Categories (Farm, Slaughterhouse, Alpine pasture)
  • Address with postcode and town
  • Contact details (name, phone, email)
  • Notes
  • Usage statistics — how often and when you last used this farm in TVD notifications

Favourites

Farms you use particularly often can be marked as a favourite. Favourites are highlighted in the partner farm list with a star and appear at the top. You can toggle the favourite status at any time directly in the list by tapping the star.

Deleting a partner farm

If you no longer need a partner farm, you can delete it:

  1. Open the detail view of the partner farm
  2. Tap Delete
  3. Confirm the deletion

The partner farm is permanently removed. Data in already submitted TVD notifications is of course retained.

Categories

Categories help you distinguish your partner farms. A farm can have multiple categories at the same time — for example, a farm can be categorised as both "Farm" (animal purchase/sale) and "Alpine pasture" (Sömmerung).

  • Farm — for regular animal transactions (purchase, sale, relocation)
  • Slaughterhouse — for slaughter notifications
  • Alpine pasture — for alpine summering notifications (start and end of summer season)

Use with TVD notifications

When you create a TVD notification that involves another farm (e.g. departure or arrival), you can select the partner farm directly from your saved list. Herdy then fills in the TVD number automatically. This saves time and prevents typing errors.

Tip: If you enter a new farm during a TVD notification that is not yet in your partner farm list, you can save it as a partner farm afterwards to find it more quickly next time.
